Ma made the remarks while attending a meeting for Taiwan businessmen operating activities on the continent. The meeting was organized in order to be entitled the Spring Festival in China on the island, Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), an organization, brand, handle cross-strait issues.

The basic idea of the Framework Agreement on Economic Cooperation (ECFA) was to  help people do business and the competitiveness of Taiwan,  Ma said in his 35-minute-long speech.

ECFA is a comprehensive economic pact to further normalization of trade and investment across the Strait of Taiwan, Ma, dealing with the mainland this year marks the stimulation of economic recovery of Taiwan hopes.

Signature of the ECFA would help to create jobs to 260,000 positions in Taiwan, said Ma, quoted a local research institution.

It calls for efforts to help the public learn more about ECFA, particularly low-income residents, employees of small and medium businesses and people in central and southern Taiwan.

ECFA no negotiations scheduled. The single round of negotiations to date have been held in Beijing in 26th January. The proposed deal involves mainly a reduction of tariffs to ensure investment and intellectual property protection.
