Ma made the remarks while attending a meeting for Taiwan businessmen operating activities on the continent. The meeting was organized in order to be entitled the Spring Festival in China on the island, Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), an organization, brand, handle cross-strait issues.

Signature of the ECFA would help to create jobs to 260,000 positions in Taiwan, said Ma, quoted a local research institution.
It calls for efforts to help the public learn more about ECFA, particularly low-income residents, employees of small and medium businesses and people in central and southern Taiwan.

The economic relations between the mainland and Taiwan have warmed in recent years, with direct flights and maritime transport and postal services and scheduled passenger charters connecting the island with the mainland.
