The 3rd International Coffee Conference began on Friday to discuss a sustainable coffee production, the second traded commodity in the world after oil.

The annual conference will attract over 1200 delegates from 77 countries, including the adverse effects of climate change on coffee production and output has increased due to higher consumption needs.
Nestor Osorio, executive director of the International Organization of Coffee (ICO), said world coffee consumption in 2010 would be 123 million sacks of 60 kg, 25 million sacks more than last year. There will be a great shortage of coffee production next year, he said.
Organization of Islamic Conference, founded in 1960 by the Common Fund for Commodities of the United Nations launched. The first International Coffee Conference held in London in May 2001 and the second in El Salvador in September 2005.
